Course Description

This one session course is designated for internationally educated teachers who are seeking to learn more about the Ontario: curriculum, pedagogies, assessment practices; policies; procedures; and programs. The course will highlight Ontario education from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12 and give participants the basic knowledge related to teaching practices and school organization in Ontario.

Prerequisites

Certificate of Qualification:
Must be a registered member of the Ontario College of Teachers.

Recommendations

Successful completion is a final grade of C-

Upon successful completion of the course, a recommendation will be sent to the Ontario College of Teachers.

This session will run intensively for 3 weeks. Your learning will take the form of in-depth online discussions, readings, videos in a facilitator paced asynchronous course.

Learners will be expected to engage in approximately 42 hours of learning per week for a total of 125 hours:

  • 100 hours online learning (asynchronous, but facilitator-led and paced into modules)
  • 25 hours assignments and independent study
