Course Description

This course explores drama as an art form and as a learning technique in middle school and junior high school years, grades 7 - 10. Topics include: use of drama for conceptual development and language learning, the theory and practice of dramatic forms such as role playing and improvisation and textual interpretation to enhance student-centered learning.

Prerequisites

Certificate of Qualification:
Must be a registered member of the Ontario College of Teachers.

Post-Secondary Education:

Must hold an acceptable post-secondary degree or equivalent qualifications.

 

Recommendations

Successful completion is a final grade of C-

Upon successful completion of the course, a recommendation will be sent to the Ontario College of Teachers.

Online - Synchronous & Asynchronous
This session will run intensely for 3 weeks. Your learning will take the form of in-depth online discussions as well as group and individual assignments. Learners will be expected to engage in approximately 42 hours of learning per week for a total of 125 hours:

  • 25 hours assignments and independent study
